World Tutu Day
Every winter, Crested Butte Mountain Resort hosts a delightfully whimsical event called World Tutu Day, where skiers and snowboarders ditch the ordinary ski attire and hit the slopes in tutus.
Held on February 2nd, a playful nod to “tutu”, the day encourages participants to bring their best tutu (or pick one up at the resort — they’re handed out starting at 8:45 a.m., while supplies last).
The atmosphere is festive and fun rather than competitive; it’s about humor, community, and embracing the joy of the slopes in a light‑hearted way.
Whether you’re dressed in full tutus, quirky accessories, or simply cheering from the chairlift, it’s a standout event that adds a splash of color and laughter to the mountain and embodies the spirited character of Crested Butte.
