Crested Butte is a once out-of-the-way bucolic ski town. Her transformation, while truly impressive, was not altogether unexpected for those of us lauding her allure while at the same time desperately trying to guard her secrets. Crested Butte has experienced, and continues to experience extortionate growth and change and we hope to document and deliver it all.

A life long resident of Crested Butte, Matt has a strong passion for the outdoors. Utilizing a combination of snowboarding, backpacking, fishing, and camping to find and create many of his images, Matt specializes in sports action, wildlife, and landscape photography around the Town of Crested Butte.
Spending time in the mountains his entire life has helped shape Matt’s eye to capture these dramatic images. Waiting for the “ultimate light” offers plenty of time to look around and enjoy the smaller details nature has to offer. As a photographer, Matt constantly strive to convey the emotions, feelings, and sense of wonder that were present while making the image.
