A Tournament of Skill: The Staring Contest at Kochevars

The Staring Contest at Kochevar’s Saloon brings a fun and competitive twist to a classic night out, challenging participants to outlast their opponents in a battle of focus and nerves.
Presented by Mikey’s Pizza and Rolling Kaz Food Truck, with support from Backcountry Cannabis, Handlebar Bike + Board, MF Welding, Joyful Rind, and Slate River Traders, this unique tournament invites locals and visitors alike to test their staring skills for a chance at winner-take-all cash and prizes.
Top finishers will also receive prizes from Backcountry Cannabis, Ace, Shelley’s Shoulder Rub, CB Deli, Montanya Spirits Liquor, Slate River Traders Ice Cream, Rolling Kaz, PGA pro Mike’s golf lesson, Mikey’s Pizza, Yeehaw Pickles, Breadery, a photo feature in the CB News, Montanya, and Soupçon.
With registration starting at 6:30 PM and a $5 entry fee, the event promises a lively crowd, great drinks, and plenty of laughs in one of Crested Butte’s most iconic saloons.
