Summer Classics in the Courtyard: Hot Tub Jazz
Join the Center Tuesday nights in the Feldberg East Courtyard for a stunning series of classical and world music performances. The Summer Classics in the Courtyard.
Hot Tub Jazz was originally formed in Boulder, Colorado in the early 80’s when Scott Betts gathered some friends together to play some tunes. The quartet was asked to play it’s first gig at the grand opening of a health club in the foothills outside of Boulder.
Before playing the job, the four musicians were sitting in the hot tub at the club trying to come up with a name for the group and Hot Tub Jazz was born.
The western slope version has played at Colorado Mountain Winefest & Jazz Among the Grapevines. The Hot Tub Jazz plays many of the great jazz standards of the American Songbook. We also include more contemporary tunes from folks like Michael Franks and Van Morrison. You may even hear jazz versions of other pop and country songs.
