Molly Brown & Other Colorado Characters Revue

Join the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum at The Crested Butte Mountain Theater for this production of Molly Brown and Other Colorful Characters Revue by Elizabeth Bond.

Margaret (Molly) Brown was a first-class passenger on the RMS Titanic in 1912. She helped others board the lifeboats but was finally persuaded to abandon ship in Lifeboat No. 6. She was later called “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” by authors for her assistance in the ship’s evacuation, taking an oar herself in her lifeboat and urging that the lifeboat go back and save more passengers. Her efforts sealed her place in history, and was inducted into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame.

This broadway musical from 1960 is being brought to Crested Butte by Elizabeth Bond. The musical highlights a fictionalized account of Margaret Brown’s life, from her humble beginnings in Leadville, Colorado to her trip on the Titanic, and back to Colorado to be reunited with her love Johnny Brown who has built Molly her own “castle”, a beautiful home in the Rocky Mountains.
Elizabeth will be joined by Judeth Shay Comstock and Steven Taylor in this production.
