KBUT New DJ Training

Ever dreamed of being on the radio, spinning your favorite tunes, and sharing your love of music with the Gunnison Valley?

Here’s your chance to get behind the microphone! KBUT Community Radio is looking for its next generation of volunteer DJs, and they’re inviting music lovers to join their upcoming DJ training sessions on Tuesday, November 17, and Thursday, November 19, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the KBUT Studios in Crested Butte.

For 40 years, KBUT has been the soundtrack of the Gunnison Valley, bringing listeners an eclectic mix of music, local news, and community programming. What makes this beloved station so special? Its volunteer DJs!

From rock, blues, and bluegrass to funk, jazz, reggae, and everything in between, KBUT’s diverse musical programming reflects the personalities and passions of the people who call this valley home. Now it’s your turn to become part of that tradition.

Whether you’re a lifelong music enthusiast, an aspiring radio personality, or simply curious about what happens behind the scenes at your favorite local station, this training is your opportunity to explore the world of community radio.

Learn what it takes to become a KBUT DJ, discover how volunteer-powered radio works, and take the first step toward potentially hosting your own show. No need to be a professional broadcaster—just bring your enthusiasm for music and community!

Training takes place November 17 and 19, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, at KBUT Studios, 508 Maroon Avenue in Crested Butte. To get involved or learn more, contact Kate at kate@kbut.org. Your next favorite DJ could be you!
