High Country tells the story of a group of driven young people who, in the 1960s and ’70s, discover the remote mining town of Crested Butte, Colorado. Drawn by a shared passion for conservation, they transform the town into a thriving community that prioritizes stewardship over growth. The film explores the ongoing struggle to preserve a place’s identity amidst external pressures, offering a timeless reflection on the importance of protecting what we hold dear.
Come enjoy this nostalgic, heartfelt tale of idealistic young people working to preserve Crested Butte’s character and natural beauty in the face of growth and development.
