Welcome Home The Plute
Celebrate Local Hunting History
Join the Crested Butte Museum to celebrate the long and storied history of hunting in the Gunnison Valley with a new temporary exhibit and special welcome home party for the 1899 World Record Elk known as “Plute”!
After nearly a year of planning and development we are thrilled to debut a new temporary exhibit about the history of hunting in the Gunnison Valley, which includes a special focus on the world record elk known as “Plute”! The Museum is grateful to the owners of Plute, members of the Rozman family, for their commitment to keeping this piece of local history on public display.
