The Original Growler Mountain Bike Race
The 2025 Original Growler is set to take place on May 24–25, 2025, in Gunnison, Colorado, offering a premier mountain biking experience through the rugged trails of Hartman Rocks.
Race Options
Participants can choose from three challenging race distances, all following a clockwise course direction for 2025:

• Classic 32 (Saturday): Approximately 32 miles of demanding singletrack.

• Pup 20 (Sunday): A 20-mile route suitable for those seeking a shorter yet still challenging ride.
• Big Bad 40 (Sunday): A 40-mile course that includes the Classic 32 route plus additional trails in the Aberdeen area, totaling over 5,100 feet of climbing.
Event Schedule
Friday, May 23: Packet pickup from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Western Colorado University’s Mountaineer Field House.
Saturday, May 24:
• 8:00 AM: Classic 32 race start at IOOF Park.
• 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Kids’ races for various age groups.
• 1:00 PM: Post-race party begins.
• 2:30 PM: Awards ceremony.
Sunday, May 25:
• 8:00 AM: Big Bad 40 and Pup 20 races start at IOOF Park.
• 1:00 PM: Post-race festivities.
• 2:30 PM: Awards ceremony.
Post-Race Celebration
After the races, participants can enjoy a lively post-race party in downtown Gunnison, featuring food, beverages, and camaraderie among fellow riders.
All proceeds benefit Gunnison Trails, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to maintaining and expanding the singletrack experience in the Gunnison area.
