The Breeding Bird Survey is an annual citizen-science and research event held in Gothic, just north of Crested Butte. Scientists, experienced birders, and volunteers spread out across the Gothic and upper Gunnison Valley area to identify and count breeding bird species during the peak nesting season. The data helps researchers track bird populations, species diversity, habitat use, and long-term environmental changes in the region.
Home to one of the largest annual migrations of field biologists, RMBL provides logistical support for scientists and students in Gothic CO.
