Red Lady Celebration on Elk Avenue
Today, in our 47th year fighting for the protection of our town’s beloved mountain, the ink is now dry on conservation easements which will declare a forever mine-free Red Lady. High Country Conservation Advocates (HCCA), the Town, key partners, numerous supporters, and you, have all showed a tremendous amount of dedication at one or more points in time during this battle.
Now is our time to celebrate, dance in Red, and cheer loudly enough that our cries of joy will be heard at the summit of Red Lady!
This year, HCCA will not be holding a traditional Red Lady Ball. Rather, we’ll have a large street celebration with dancing and music provided by Floodgate Operators, in view of our mountain that embraces town.
We are eager to celebrate a 47-year movement, and honor key partners, dedicated community members, and numerous supporters. This party is for everyone who loves Red Lady. At this event, HCCA will also highlight our continued advocacy for the valley’s most valued natural resource – our public lands.
Red will once again be the color of the day. Come stand together once more in solidarity for the protections of our valley’s waters, lands, and wildlife. We will celebrate a monumental SUCCESS!
We hope you join us!
Thank you to the support from the Town of Crested Butte, Mt. Emmons Mining Company, and the Crested Butte Land Trust for supporting this party for the community.
