This was our third burger try in Colorado, and we finally found a winner! We got the burger and fries, and were very satisfied with the quality. The service was great, servers were friendly and we got our food quickly. The pepper and salt on the fries were a nice surprise as well.

We had our reception at Public House and it could not have been better! It was the perfect western colorado vibe, and the staff was incredible. Not only were they so helpful and accommodating, but they made all our guests feel welcome. The late night downstairs music was unreal! Truly could not have asked for a better spot.

We had our wedding reception here with Public House for a group of about 100. The entire staff was super accommodating to all of our needs. This space provides a true variety between the sitting booths, standing areas, outdoor patio, and basement stage/bar. The food and cocktails were amazing and everything ran on time. I want to give a special shout out to the members of the staff that went around to the kids at the wedding and asked if they wanted burgers/chicken tenders/ fries. They went the extra mile to make sure everyone invited was comfortable.

Sat in the top dining area at dinner time service was quick gave us a good chance to look at menus and once orders were placed food came out quickly, timing was the appetizers were only minutes before main dishes but everything came out delicious and way more filling then was expected. I highly recommend trying their Brussel sprouts appetizer it’s amazing!

We stopped for a beer and also had an appetizer of wings, which were delicious. Joey was our bartender, and he was great. We’ll definitely be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Public House… pleasantly surprised to be able to get a delicious salad with grilled, blackened chicken, goat cheese, cranberries, pepitas, and more at a pub! Service was fantastic. Loved it!

Amazing food and folks who truly care about the product they’re putting out! I wish I got her name, but the young chef was amazing. Not sure if she’s the exec chef, but clearly understood the importance of service. She specifically checked on us and followed through to make sure everything was fine. Keep up the great work!

The food was unreal! We got chicken wings as a starter (they are smoked and then fried) and they may have been the best chicken wings I’ve ever had. They said they just started making wings and it’s just a weekend special as of now! For our meals, we got a burger and the elk meatloaf. The burger was delicious and the meatloaf was out of this world! Forgot to get pics but I highly recommend

We decided to try Public House after a couple of summers of just walking by; it has always been super crowded, but we came down fairly early on a Sunday and decided to try it for lunch. The “PH” burger is small but delicious, and it comes with a mountain of fries, so keep that in mind if you order the poutine as an appetizer; it’s an even bigger mountain of fries. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits, which were terrific. Service is amicable and a little too laid-back, which seemed like a slight affectation, but we weren’t in a hurry, so not a big deal for us. We will go back for dinner sometime this summer!

Loved this place. Came back back to back nights just cause the beer/cocktails were delicious, the service was top notch and the food! Such a great spot for any occasion. Don’t forget about the cool bar downstairs as well to catch games

Expected a 90 minute wait but got seated at a cozy booth after just 30 minutes. Our server was solid and the Irwin beer selection was perfect. Two burgers, fish and chips, and elk meatloaf were all outstanding and the salads were large and creative. Did I mention that the elk meatloaf was to die for? This restaurant is quite possibly the only reasonably priced spot in town and the food is fantastic! Like many of the restaurants in town there is not a lot of seating so get there early or prepare to wait. It’s well worth it.

Good lunch spot. The elk meatloaf that had a good mushroom gravy sauce on top. It comes with mashed potatoes and a side salad. I was pleased they didn’t drown the salad in salad dressing. The pulled pork Mac and cheese was the right size and liked how the pork was intermixed into the Mac instead of just piled on top. The fish and chips was good and it came with a really good remoulade. Comes with a side of fries, but if you are a pickle fan it has some nice half dollar sized pickles with a good crunch.

Visited Public House for the first time and I had a phenomenal experience. The service was amazing! Management is superb. Some of the best fish n chips I’ve ever had, and I’m from New England. Had a side salad instead of fries and the side salad was amazing – spring greens and the best vinaigrette. I barely like coleslaw generally and I ate it all. Huge craft beer selection. Taking a growler home. Service was excellent.

Had a great evening meal with friends. There were several beers on tap and this non-IPA drinker found an excellent brown ale in their guest tap selection.

For dinner, my meal was the envy of the table: Elk Meatloaf. Two slices on a bed a mashed potatoes and covered in a rich mushroom gravy. Mmmm. It hit the spot and I would highly recommend.

The service was great (dessert was slow, but we weren’t in a hurry) and they accommodated our larger group with ease.

A group of 6 of us had an excellent supper. My brother has been going for years and said he’s never had a bad meal there. The service was great, too! We loved the fish and chips and the Bloody Mary was excellent!

We bought out public house for our wedding reception! The food was incredible, the General Manager, Kevin was so on top of all the details, they had a ton of staff present for the day, and every single person working there was so friendly and helpful. The stage and music venue downstairs was epic for dancing and for our DJ. We couldn’t recommend Public House more. They took care of everything, the whole process was super easy, and we had such a memorable night. Thank you, Kevin and PH Team for throwing us the party of a lifetime. Forever grateful for you all!

What can I say it’s an amazing place. The staff was great, place was warm(atmosphere)and comfortable and the food- we had a late lunch was fantastic . The elk chili might have been the best we’ve ever eaten. We rounded out with the salmon fish and chips, beet salad and the burger and of course the peach cobbler. All delicious. The folks in the kitchen really know what they’re doing.We had drafts and specialty drinks and they were just as good. Thanks again to Ericka our server. Definitely coming back.

I got the fish and chips and a hazy pale ale draft. Service was a little slow at first as there was one waitress and one bartender. I sat at the bar and once I placed my order I got my food and drink fast! I give the fish, fries and beer a 5 and the slaw a 4, 5 overall. Price before tip was $26 and change with tax.

A couple days ago, I reserved a table at another restaurant in town for this Saturday night. You see, I have a college Freshman at Western Colorado in Gunnison and she wanted some “good food”. The dorm food was repetitive and the sourcing of said food “suspect”. She looked forward to her wagyu steak at this “other” restaurant… rhymes with Welk Revenue Time…. For two whole days she planned her meal only to discover that the restaurant was closed. No phone call, no notice… nada. Our Open Table reservation just disappeared! Also, it was open just two nights before!

Discouraged, we wandered onto the streets of Crested Butte hungry and a bit annoyed. We knew Slogar wasn’t an option… closed for the season. The Secret Stash is always a favorite, but pizza just wasn’t going to replace a wagyu steak. We stumbled into The Sunflower…another one of our favorites… but they were booked and couldn’t seat us. Wooden Nickel?? Permanently closed.

So, we wandered in to the Public House. We’ve been here before. They have always been kind with good food and drinks, but tonight felt different. Tonight we felt desperate and when we walked in to Public House. I tiredly asked the hostess if they were still serving dinner… She said they were, but it would be a bit of a wait. Grateful to be eating at all, we waited. A 20 minute wait was all of 8 minutes and we were seated. They were obviously short staffed, but the staff was kind and doing the absolute best they could muster.

Thinking ahead, I asked what the kitchen was out of. Exhausted, the server told me their menu limitations and brought our drinks. We were happy to hear they still had the short rib and both my daughter and I ordered this difficult menu item. I have to admit, we subbed the mashed potatoes with truffle fries….. that substitution was worth every penny of extra expense.

Our meal was superb. Our server was kind and gracious. We even got an elk meatloaf meal to go so my starving college student daughter has a meal to look forward to this week.

Public House….. I know times are crazy, but you are really doing the best you can and we really appreciated you tonight!

Loved this place, what a great spot for drinks and food in downtown Crested Butte! We ate downstairs, the service and food was excellent. I would highly recommend the Public House!

Pretty upscale menu for CB all things considered. Loved the fish n chips – light batter. My wife got the elk meatloaf and it was even better. Staff was attentive. Try not to sit in the basement as it is a little cold…good intimate spot for a concert or to watch a game though. We won’t miss Public House on our next trip to Crested Butte.

This place is a hidden secret in the best ski town in America. The staff here is incredible and the food is chef worthy and then some. Go here if you’re lucky enough to be in Crested Butte.

Dani was amazing! We come here to CB from Denver once a year and always make sure to stop in Public House for dinner. The food is incredible (we had the Elk meatloaf and shrimp and grits), and Dani was so enthusiastic and engaging as our server! Another terrific experience!!!

Great local happy hour spot and generally just a sweet vibe, $12 Fantastic Burger with Frickin good fries, comes with a beer/wine. HAPPY HOUR!!! The place has a cool downstairs ping pong and giant football screen while the upstairs has a vintage feel with the wainscoting paneling had me wanting a cigar like no other.
