Kids Outdoor Expo and Fishing Derby

The annual Outdoor Expo & Fishing Derby is brought to you by the Gunnison Parks and Recreation Department along with many local businesses and organizations including; US Forest Service, BLM, Colorado Department of Wildlife, West Elk Archers, US National Park Service, Gene Taylors, Amerigas, Elk Creek Marina, Berfields, Three Rivers Resort, and many more.

This is a family friendly event that is all about outdoor recreational education. Everything is FREE and includes fish handling, (kids get to ID and touch live fish), free fishing pole and bait for Pac Man Pond, fish cleaning station, boater safety, campfire safety, stay the trail; tread lightly, motorized users etiquette, river awareness and safety, the importance of snow pack and river water, archery course, free hot dogs & soda, Smokey the Bear, (Guest appearance).
