Gunnison River Festival: Taylor Downhill Race

This annual festival is a family friendly, river themed, art, recreation and education celebration, with a host of rafting, kayaking, SUPing, surfing and spectator opportunities for all.

Taylor Downriver Race | Friday, June 20, 2025
The Taylor Downriver Race will start at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 21st at Todd’s Slot and take out at South Bank.

Kayak and Raft Races can begin staging at 4:30 p.m. at The Slot put-in with the Raft and Kayaks having separate start times – 10 minutes apart.

Kayaks will kick-off the race with a mass start. Rafts will have two-minutes intervals.

Participants are responsible for shuttling of their own vehicles. Shuttles will be encouraged to be completed prior to the start of the race.

Join us for the Gunnison River Festival on Saturday, June 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Gunnison Whitewater Park.

There will be music, vendors, free clinics, spectator events, kid activities, art, food
THIS EVENT IS FREE!!
There is a registration fee for participants who want to compete in events.
