Gold Basin Wet Meadow Restoration Project Days
HCCA is happy to join the Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy District and the Bureau of Land Management to support volunteer efforts in restoring critical wet meadow habitat in the Gunnison Country on September 3 and 4 (join us for one or both days).
.
Volunteers will be using Bill Zeedyk methods to position and stack rocks to act as grade-controlling structures. The minimizes erosion in the area and raises the water table to support plants and insects needed by wildlife. Each structure is strategically planned and placed to slow and spread the flow of water within the area.
Lunch will be provided on both work days.
Join us in giving back to our shared public lands through Stewardship! We can’t wait to see you in the field.
Volunteers will meet at Hartman Rocks base area parking lot.
