Day Tour with Duane Vandenbusche: CB Ski History

This tour will be centered around the history of skiing in Crested Butte and The Gunnison Valley.

Topics will include Rozman Hill, Pioneer Hill at mouth of Cement Creek, Quicks Hill, Lower Loop and Pershing Mine Hill, Chocolate Peak, Gibson Ridge, Red Lady Basin (Mount Emmons), Chicken Ranch, and Crested Butte Mountain Resort.

Please note this is a walking tour around town and a portion of the lower loop and no transportation will be provided or needed for this tour.

We meet at the Crested Butte Museum at 8am for a light breakfast (rolls, fruit, coffee).

Duane will feature a slideshow on the history of skiing in the Gunnison Country and his topics for the day, then we will head out on the walking tour of the area.

A sack-lunch will also be provided with the tour: sandwich, chips or another side, and a drink.

Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements so we can accommodate your breakfast and lunch. The tour will end around 2pm.
