Gunnison Flu Clinic
It’s that time of the year for the annual Health & Human Services Flu Clinic!
Flu vaccines only will be offered this year.
If you have any questions about this yearÕs flu vaccine, call our office at (970) 641-3244.
We recommend everyone from age 6 months on to get the flu shot every year. If your child is between 6 months and 18 years and has not gotten the flu shot yet give us a call at (970) 641-3244.
Gunnison County is hosting two flu vaccine clinics this year. There will be a clinic in both Crested Butte and Gunnison according to the following schedule.
Crested Butte: October 25th, 2023 at Crested Butte Community School – 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM – No appointment needed.
Gunnison: October 19th, 2023 at Fred Field Center – 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM – No appointment needed.
Planning on getting a flu shot?
Please pay attention to the details below:
– If you have your insurance, bring you card
– You can also bring a copy of you card to speed up the process
– Bring cash or check for $25.00 if no insurance or your insurance is out-of-network
– Those who can’t pay will not be turned away
– Private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare all accepted
– All clinics are walk-in (no appointment needed)
Why is the flu shot important?
When the majority of the population receives the flu shot, it creates a buffer between the virus and the most vulnerable populations like children and the elderly.
Getting the flu shot my not stop you from contracting the virus, but you may not experience the more severe symptoms that require hospitalization or cause death.
