May 17 @ 3:00 pm – May 19 @ 9:00 am

WHY ATTEND THIS EVENT

The Impact
Public lands are vital to our Colorado way of life; they provide opportunities for adventure and solace, support our local communities, are the foundation of our outdoor recreation economy, and are critical to sustain healthy wildlife populations. While support for public lands is strong, the growing demands on our shared open spaces and the associated impacts on wildlife and habitat are mounting.

The weekend will provide the opportunity for public land champions, user groups, and recreation-based businesses to build relationships while engaging in meaningful, boots-on-the-ground stewardship; removing upwards of 5 miles of barbed wire fence to improve habitat connectivity for wildlife.

This is a rain, snow, or shine event, so bring clothes for all possibilities, ‘cause remember, “there’s no such thing as bad weather, just poor layering choices.” The workday may be canceled or delayed due to inclement weather or road conditions, however, the I Bar Festival is on either way. Join us in demonstrating the power of the public lands community and our commitment to our wildlife resources!

The Fun – Live Music featuring Storm Pass
Public land champions and enthusiasts from across the state will be coming together in Gunnison to celebrate our public lands, by getting their boots on the ground to improve wildlife habitat, enjoy some great music featuring Storm Pass, meet new people around the campfire, win great prizes, free swag and door prizes, interact with some of their favorite outdoor brands, and to campout underneath the stars together. The I Bar Ranch is located close to town with great food and drink options on-site and close by. We hope you will join us for what’s sure to be the biggest Colorado Public Lands Day Celebration of the year.

The Camping & Food
I-Bar Ranch is a 10-acre event facility a mile east of Gunnison, featuring a large central pavilion area with a stage, dance floor, food service, two open-air bars, picnic tables, restrooms, and a community-sized bonfire. There is ample room for camping and campers & tents setups are welcome.

Great food, drink & libations will be available for purchase on-site but plan on bringing a cook stove and fuel if you intend to cook your own meals as no fires are allowed, and note that personal food, beverages, and pets are only permitted in the camping area, not in the pavilion. And of course, no generators after 9 pm.
