Astronomy Talk at the Observatory – Astrophotography 101: Capturing Photons from the Unseen

Enjoy a family-friendly astronomy talk by one of our knowledgeable volunteers followed by viewing through a variety of small outside telescopes (weather permitting). Note: a separate Dome Tour ticket is required for viewing through our 30” telescope.

Description: A quick glance at the internet and you’re likely to come across extraordinary images of galaxies, nebulae, and other astronomical objects. The advent of photography drastically changed the field of astronomy and advances in technology continue to improve our view of the Universe. Join local amateur astronomer David Clayton to discover how these amazing astronomical images are made, and how anyone can become an astrophotographer.

Program begins at 9:00 PM. The astronomy talk will last approximately 30 minutes.
