Title: Jupiter and Juno
Description: It’s our solar system’s largest planet, and it has affected the course of humanity in amazing ways. Jupiter was seen by the Romans as their mightiest god and helped Galileo to prove that the Earth isn’t the center of the Universe. It even protects Earth from dangerous meteorite strikes. Is there anything this super planet can’t do?! Now the Juno mission is taking us closer to Jupiter than ever before and allowing us to view our giant neighbor in unprecedented detail. Join local amateur astronomer Derek Brooks for the story of Jupiter and an amazing look at the images taken by Juno.
Program begins at 9:00 PM. The astronomy talk will last approximately 30 minutes.
Cost: $5.00
