AIARE Level 2 Avalanche Course
Are you ready to elevate your avalanche awareness?
The backcountry is calling, and it’s more important than ever to make informed decisions in avalanche terrain.
Our AIARE 2 Avalanche Course is perfect for anyone who wants to take their safety knowledge to the next level.
Three day course: 1/30/26-2/1/26
The AIARE Avalanche Level 2 course has been designed specifically to meet the needs of advanced students who have taken an AIARE Level 1 and AIARE Avalanche Rescue Course.
The American Institute of Avalanche Safety and Education (AIARE) Level 2 is a 3-day/24-hour course that provides backcountry travelers the opportunity to advance their decision-making skills in more complicated situations such as: leading travel in small groups, traveling in more challenging terrain, and developing travel plans with limited resources.
This course builds on the introductory avalanche hazard management model introduced in the AIARE Level 1 and adds to the evaluation of critical hazard assessment factors. Students will describe and discuss the weather, snowpack, and avalanche processes and identify how these processes relate to observations and travel within avalanche terrain.
