EMBA Brush Creek Weed Pull
Roll up your sleeves and help protect one of the Gunnison Valley’s most beautiful landscapes at the Elk Mountain Backcountry Alliances Brush Creek Weed Pull!
Join fellow community members for a rewarding morning of stewardship as volunteers work together to remove invasive Penny Cress, a fast-spreading weed that threatens the native wildflowers and healthy ecosystems of the Brush Creek drainage.
Whether you can stay for an hour or the entire morning, your efforts will make a real difference. EMBA volunteers will be on hand to help identify the plants and provide guidance, making this a great opportunity for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who loves the valley’s trails, open spaces, and mountain scenery.
Bring your gloves, water, and a friend, enjoy a beautiful morning in the high country, and help preserve Brush Creek’s spectacular wildflower meadows for hikers, bikers, equestrians, and future generations to enjoy.
Every weed pulled is a step toward keeping the Gunnison Valley wild and beautiful. Come lend a hand and be part of the solution!
Meet at: New Tent City Parking Area – Located 6 miles up Brush Creek Road from Crested Butte.
From the parking area, participants will walk back to the junction of Brush Creek Road and West Brush Creek Road, where the weed pull will take place.
Carpooling is encouraged, and organizers ask everyone to park in the designated lot rather than along the roadside to help prevent the spread of weed seeds.
