CB Avalanche Center Trailhead Days: Snodgrass
Crested Butte Avalanche Center Trailhead Days are free, informal outreach events held throughout the winter at popular backcountry trailheads around Crested Butte and Gunnison County.
Meet at the Sondgrass Trailhead.
During these days, CBAC forecasters and volunteers meet recreationists where they start their day to share current avalanche conditions, discuss the local snowpack, offer terrain and travel advice, and answer questions about avalanche gear and decision-making.
Designed for skiers, riders, snowmobilers, and anyone traveling in or near avalanche terrain, Trailhead Days provide real-time, practical information in a friendly, conversational format—helping the community make safer choices before heading into the mountains.
