Grand Opening of WCU’s Mountaineer Bowl

Join WCU on Saturday September 7, 2024, for Grand Opening of the Mountaineer Bowl at The Rady Family Sports Complex.

Before the first home football night game, at 6 pm versus Midwestern State University, Western Colorado University has several events planned throughout the day.

The merriment begins at 12 pm with tours of the brand-new Stadium and amenities.

Following that, from 2 pm – 4 pm, WCU is hosting a Tailgate located at the Crimson Practice Field. Come enjoy food and drinks for purchase from our sponsor, Mario’s. There will also be Spenny’s Ice Cream, a designated space for 21+ beverages, a DJ, games such as cornhole, and free t-shirts and rally towels.

At 4pm there will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the front of the Bowl.

Gates and ticketing for the game will open at 4:30 pm.

Tickets can be bought online at gomountaineers.com/tickets or at the Bowl upon arrival.

Western Students & Employees with valid ID: FREE
Gunnison Watershed School District Students: FREE

Alumni with valid ID: FREE plus a complimentary hot dog and beer

Kickoff is at 6pm.

Concessions including food from our sponsor 5B’s, the beer garden and the Western bookstore will be open during the contest.
