Free Shakespeare in the Park: Macbeth
The Bard’s bloody tale of ambition, greed, murder, and fate comes to life this summer with a fresh take set in a galaxy far, far away!
Directed by William Spicer, Firebird’s production of Macbeth will pay homage to sci-fi themes whilst telling one of the darkest tales in the Shakespeare canon.
After a fateful meeting with prophesying witches, valiant warrior Macbeth gives in to his dark side and lets his ambition drive his actions toward the throne of Scotland.
But paranoia soon creeps in, and his fear leads to anger, hate, and eventually, suffering. When fed-up Scottish lords rebel against him, Scotland’s future hangs in the balance between desire and fate.
