National Park Service Presentation by Park Ranger Matt Johnson

Join us at the Gunnison Library on Wednesday, May 10 at 6 pm for a presentation on the National Park Service by park ranger Matt Johnson.

Explore the history and mission of the National Park Service as revealed through animal stories. Discover what bears, eagles, wolves, salmon, bison and other animals reveal about the agency that manages America’s best idea; its national parks.

Matt will also discuss volunteer opportunities with the National Park Service at Curecanti and Black Canyon, and answer any questions that you may have.

More about Matt:

Matt Johnson is a supervisory park ranger and interpreter for the National Park Service at Curecanti National Recreation Area. He is also the volunteer coordinator for Curecanti and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. While Matt has a law degree with specialties in environmental law and public lands management, he was educated at ten national parks across the country where he lived and worked including Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Everglades, and the Tongass National Forest of Alaska.
