We found this place through a search engine but are SO GLAD WE DID! It is an adorable hotel with good amenities, a very homey feel, and delicious breakfast each day. It is perfectly placed within walking distance of downtown, ski shuttle, etc. The hot tub is also clutch. We will stay here again for sure.

The lodge is a historic building close to the main road in downtown Crested Butte. Good restaurants are within easy walking distance. The bus to the ski resort is only a few blocks away. The included breakfast is good. The staff are friendly and helpful. One downside is the walls between some rooms are thin. It is possible to hear conversations in adjacent rooms. I would stay here again.

Erika was personable and friendly. She accompanied us to our room and made sure the check in process was smooth. Added bonus, she was extremely knowledgeable about the local area and made Crested Butte feel like home.

Excellent stay. Beyond accommodating. We were two travelers passing through Crested Butte for some mountain biking during an extended camping adventure. The Elk Mountain Lodge had one of the last rooms in town – a beautiful room on the top floor with probably the best view in the place. It was pricey but we were pumped for a real bed and the opportunity to do our laundry. Doug was very warm and welcoming on the phone that morning, and said that we would be able to do our laundry. He even offered to explore gear options in town for us and make our reservations if we wanted. When we arrived that night, Doug was still there to greet us. He gave us every bit of information we needed to know and even showed us a place to wash our camp kitchen gear. Parking was ample and safe even with the influx of people that weekend in town to view the foliage. The lodge has a rich and interesting history and is beautifully preserved. The common area is big, cozy, and stocked with instruments, reading material, and games. The bed was super comfy and the view of the mountains was awesome. The floor creaks and we could hear murmurs of other guests but hey, it’s an old place, which is exactly what I loved about it. Maybe bring some ear plugs if you’re sensitive like me, or have Doug make you a drink at the bar. Breakfast was outstanding. Hot breakfast and dark coffee in a bright breakfast room. The other staff were excited to talk adventure and gave us a ton of recommendations. Everyone was just so friendly and seemed to really enjoy what they do. I’d absolutely love to stay here again some day, especially during ski season. P.S. Best scone I’ve ever had. We had to stop back in a few days later as they were cleaning up after breakfast and were offered the delicious leftovers. Unbelievable generosity.

This place was amazing. There are many cozy places to read and relax. The staff are all wonderful and gave us very helpful recommendations of where to go and what to do. The breakfast was top notch. The whole environment feels welcoming and relaxed. Will be back for sure!

Rooms are simple and small, but clean and nice.
Breakfast and coffee is great. Wine and bar is fun.
Service was great, and they let you use bikes free of charge which is super fun to head into town with. You can walk right into town but your off the path for noise.

Really cute spot right in the town of Crested Butte. Such a friendly place with welcoming staff. They will help you with any questions or things you want to do. And also just converse with you about anything, making you feel like you stayed at someone’s home! Dog friendly and there are tasty snacks in the evening and a yummy breakfast. Need a dog bowl, they have one to use. Loved it here.

We had a great stay at the Elk Mountain Lodge. This is not some luxury hotel by any means but the rooms were nice, the staff was excellent, and the breakfast was the best. Probably the best blueberry pancakes I’ve ever had. You can’t beat the location. 2 min walk to the shuttle for skiing.

We had a great stay here, the lodge is super cute and clean with a very friendly and accommodating staff. The location is perfect for people who want to hit Created Butte resort, it’s and easy walk to the free shuttle bus and only two blocks from the Main Street of town! Highly recommend

Super cute lodge in a historic building in the heart of town. Steps away from Elk Avenue. First class hospitality from the staff who were accommodating and very warm. Room was a tad small but has an awesome view and has what you need. Outside the room, we were happy to hang out in the common areas and were surprised to find the hot tub open during COVID times with a simple sign up sheet to reserve your group’a time slot. Loved our stay and will be coming back anytime we visit CB.

Great stay at Elk Mountain recently. The staff was super helpful in providing recommendations and suggestions on things to do in the area, shout out to Matt. The common area was spacious and inviting and the adjustments made to breakfast for COVID considerations were well balanced. I still managed to get that small inn feel while staying distanced. The room was basic but perfectly fine and had a good view of the mountains. Only minor complaint is that being right above the hot tub it can be a bit noisy till 10pm or so.

Our stay was amazing! The owner was extremely helpful, made a very tasty breakfast, and the room was perfect! We stayed on the third floor and had great views of Mt Crested Butte. We sat on the balcony at night and got some great photos of the stars over the mountain. Just a block or so away from our favorite places to eat and visit in town. We’ll absolutely be staying there again!

I adore this lovely little lodge! It is so warm and inviting! Mike is a great host. He was very accommodating and attentive to the stayer’s needs. We had a great view of the mountain from our room. The room is updated and the breakfast was delicious! I would highly recommend if you need a place to stay in the area!
